The Corporation is a Governmental financial instrument established exclusively to develop nanotechnology and the nanoindustry throughout the Russian Federation. The Corporation intensifies the development of innovative nanotechnologies by bridging the gap between the product development and the market place by means of investment at an early stage. The investments are made in volumes sufficient to attract private funding at all stages of the innovation pipeline.
Acting
The investment decisions of the Corporation are based on the nanoindustry projects’ potential for wide economic benefits and the evidence of a clear commercialization pathway. The Corporation also finances educational, infrastructure, scientific research and development projects, hereby supporting investment projects.
One of the most important areas of the corporation’s activities is the commercialization of existing scientific and technological products and intellectual capital, which are government property or which have been developed using budget funding.
In order to finance innovation nanotechnology projects the Corporation applies the following instruments:
- Contributing to chartered capital of legal entities, venture and seed investments funds, which invest assets into projects in the field of nanotechnologies, into noncommercial organizations established in order to develop nanotechnologies;
- Financial support by means of loans provision;
- Acquisition of bonds and convertible promissory notes;
- Provision of credit and other guaranteed bonds;
- Execution of leasing operations
Any financial institution that considers investing into a science related project relies upon qualitative scientific, technical and financial expertise. The Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies undertakes project evaluation with participation of best experts and organizations both from Russia and other countries.
The Corporation expert evaluation is based on the following principles:

- Validity of experts conclusions based on world level of science and technology development, standards of ecological security, and requirements of international agreements.
